About Us
The Dalwallinu Community Resource Centre (CRC) is a not-for-profit community organisation run by a Management Committee. 3 staff, consisting of Manager, TL Coordinator and Finance Officer are available to assist you.
Our main goal as a CRC is to provide services to our community that are not readily available in our regional area. Not all our community members have the time or resources to be able to travel to our nearest regional centre over 100km away.
The Dalwallinu CRC provides a professional and community-focused service in information, training and technology. Through our contract with the WA State government's Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, we provide social, business and economic outcomes to our local communities. We also hold a contract with the Federal Government's Department of Human Services, so that clients can access assistance through a self-help access point.
Our History |
A steering committee was formed in 1998 to develop a then Telecentre, and the doors were open to the public in July 1999. Our first home was in the old Shire Chambers (now demolished), then the front of the Town Hall. The Dalwallinu Telecentre purchased the premises located at 3 Myers St, affectionately known as the Old Shed with the intention of renovating the premises. After much consideration the decision was made to relocate into the proposed Dalwallinu Environmental & Interpretive Centre. Work was halted on the project for a couple of years, but finally work commenced on the Dalwallinu Discovery Centre in 2009, and the now Dalwallinu Community Resource Centre relocated into its current home in August 2010.
